  • I would have thought that this new site would have been a good opportunity for the TRF to win members back from facebook. Apparently not. There is even a link taking us to Local Groups on Facebook.
I personally am not a fan of Facebook and try not to use it if I can help it.
I assume that this site is still being developed but if the developers…[Read more]

Those of us in Herts TRF will know the trails that we can ride radiating from the water tower at Whitwell. The main one is on the map but nothing shows that we can legally ride it. Confusing for those wanting to plan a ride.

I know the key is there but it is not very clear and certainly not accurate. The clearest tracks are shown in red but they are restricted byways which are of no use to us. I can’t understand why there is a link to this map on this TRF site.

  • Is there a topic index for this forum?

  • Can’t understand why the Byway Map is available in Resources. We need a map that shows where we can ride with rather than where we can’t ride such as restricted byways. Certainly on my laptop the colours of different ways are not too clear. Many of the legal byways are not even indicated.
I think that this map is very confusing and should be removed.

    • Agreed Tom. I’m sure there must be one but I didn’t spot a key to the colours? Possibly my eyes or because I was viewing it on a phone. Many lanes in my “patch” are not shown. I’m sure it’ll get sorted though.

    • Cheers.

    • it also shows lanes as rideable but a quick check on Google maps streetview shows same lanes with signs too the contrary.
